The Greatest Show on Earth may be parked at the United Center, but Patrick Kane, Brian Campbell and the rest of the gang created a spectacle of their own in eastern Texas this evening. They dispatched of Western Conference foe Dallas 6-3.
All the Hawks' biggest offensive threats reached the scoresheet. Kane had two goals, Campbell a goal and an assist, while Martin Havlat, Kris Versteeg and Ben Eager also scored. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Dave Bolland each added a helper - Troy Brouwer contributed two assists.
Chicago's had the second fewest road games in the NHL thus far, seven now compared to the Los Angeles Kings' five, and while it's been great at home this year (6-1-4), many have wondered how it would fare across state lines.
The Hawks are 2-0 on this road swing with four games to go in the annual November "Circus Trip." They won 3-2 in a shootout against Phoenix on Tuesday.
Next, Chicago will journey north of the border to face Toronto on Saturday night. It'll be in San Jose on Thanksgiving Eve, Anaheim on Nov. 28 and Los Angeles on Nov. 29.
The Hawks have posted a losing record every "Circus Trip" since 2000-2001, when they went 3-3, according to NBC Chicago. This team is different than years' past, and their luck seems to be changing.
In other news..
Wings Roll: That team from Detroit won again, 4-3 in Edmonton. Pffffft. Chicago remains six points back of the Red and White in the standings. The Hawks look to avenge their 6-5 shootout loss to the Wings on Dec. 6 in Motown.
Signing Session: Former Blackhawk Greats Bobby Hull and Tony Esposito will be promoting their signature wines this weekend at two Chicago area Meijer stores. They'll be on hand to autograph bottles at 855 S. Randall Road in St. Charles on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, they'll be in Rolling Meadows, 1301 Meijer Drive, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A great opportunity to meet two NHL legends.
